I had a similar incident recently, except it was on the narrowest of narrow roads (barely a car width wide) flanked by steep verges and hedge rows.

I was aware of place I could safely pull over, about 3/4 of mile from where this feck wit caught up with and started blasting his horn and revving his engine at me. I thought he'd ease off after the gradient changed in my favour and I gained some speed. Nope, it continued, even though I was cycling as fast I'd ever dare drive on this particlar road.

I drew the bike to a gradual stop, in the middle of the road. It just didn't feel safe any more to carry on. I said loudly that I'd pull over when it is safe to do so. Not before.

The twunt continued tailgating but at least refrained from blasting his horn or revving his engine. I pulled into the safe place. He wasn't in that much of a rush. Found the time to slow down, wind down the passenger window and hurl expletives at me. I read aloud his registration for the camera.

This was a road that I chose to use because you rarely ever see a vehicle on it. It was dark. I have to say I felt incredibly vulnerable.

Reported. Video evidence provided. Not heard anything back from the plod as yet.

Worcester police went and saw the chap who cut me up twice in the center of town and then a couple of years later had a word in the ear of a chap who took exception to me walking across Nat Trust ground when not on a footpath. Neither time did I have video or witness.

I'd some have a go at me and the group I was with when walking on a private road. We shouldn't have been in his way, on the road.
I was quick to point out that
1: The road was a private one,
2: There was adequate signage in place warning all on the road to be careful of people walking on the road. And
3: Seeing as it was gone midnight, why didn't he have his lights on in the first place.
He had a go, verbally, at me and another adult whilst the kids were led away. He threatened to have words with those in charge, he knew them well, in the morning. The morning came and he came up to the hut I was in, to have a word. It was there he found out that I was the person in charge, and he didn't know me.

I was the warden on the local scout owned camp site. And a note had been made of the incident, which he was shown.

I am sure Drago can tell us better, but what is likely to happen to such a report without any corroboration only a numberplate?? Would one of your former colleagues appreciate that work? Would it actually make it to the official statistics or make any positive effect on cyclist safety?

Likely nothing.

They'll put the VRM through the 'box' in case the car is associated with a wanted person. Then they might, if it's Q, broadcast one over the radio just to keep an eye out for the car, and that's it absolute tops. There's simply nothing more that can be done in that scenario.
