I've got a fully refurbed 1964 Moulton Speed (a very early one with 36 spoke wheels and alloy mudguards), the one aimed at the yoof with its red paint job and downturned handlebars. It goes pretty well.
They were more of an invention than a real engineering success; all F-frame Moultons are stupendously heavy, the series 1 rear forks nearly always crack, the steering always has some slop, the brakes are terrible, especially on chromed rims, and the FW hub is troublesome unless you get one that was religiously parked in top gear to stop the springs creeping. But they can be fun, and the fork is easy to tune by adding a length of dowel (I use 18mm nylon rod) under the spring. My rule of thumb is 1/4" of dowel for every stone of rider weight over 10st 7lb, which was the average male weight when these were made. Few men are so light nowadays.
