Yes. Report it using 101 phone number. At the very least an incident will be recorded with the plate and driver details, should they be needed in the future.

Yes, I reported something recently - I was driving but have no camera - I had the number and the local police confirmed that they'd make a note of it and be aware of that vehicle.

Sadly, when one gets angry at twerps like that, one only hurts oneself, never the miscreant. I get angry at scofflaws but it really is futile. I'm getting better at ignoring them. More peaceful that way. It's my life and I plan to enjoy every minute of it without steaming inside at the sh*ts around.

Yeah, report it but don't expect any action. At best, it'll give the police some warning when they eventually pull the raging idiot over that he's likely to fail the so-called "attitude test" and might even try to assault them if he feels he was stopped unjustly. At worst, it'll be evidence of prior bad acts once the driver injures someone else.

My fun today was a driving school car turning into a side road across the cycle lane I was using, failing to give way and forcing me to stop. Not sure why their instructor didn't intervene. If this soft of thing keeps happening, I'll have to start using the camera again.

Maybe brave or stupid, but I stop in the middle of the road and walk back for a chat about the Highway Code, they love it.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
This is unfortunately the sad state of affairs. About 18 months ago some nut was driving like a maniac, tried getting around me on a blind bend and nearly hit an oncoming car. As he passed me I was shaking my head (to myself, didn't say anything or make any gestures to him). He obviously saw and took exception to this, slammed his brakes on and started to get out of the car. Fortunately the clown had been driving like this for a couple of miles, dangerously overtaking etc. Another driver with a dashcam had decided to follow him just in case and pulled in between me and said nutjob to warn him off.

Fortunately I don't get many instances of bad driving but when I do I now just ignore it, no words/gestures/eye contact. I have actually found that just letting it go as though it never happened is a far better way of dealing with it for me personally. Although I completely understand people who want to report it.

i was similarly lucky as the car behind me saw what was happening , i rode past the nutter and the car behind me shadowed me and stopped a bit further down the road after nut job had driven off in a different direction to make sure i was ok .

That was nice of them. Just goes to show the majority of people are actually lovely. Shame about the chumps.

A very inclusive driving school, training future nut Jobs on correct techniques.....
I honestly think that whilst instructors have to pass a standard, many fail to maintain them,
Many the times I've witnessed 'school' cars , with single occupants commit offences ,which instructors ought to know better about, parking badly, jumping lights , crossing doubles, doing U - turns, and reversing into main roads.
I was knocked off badly years ago, part of that made me very observant of others, ,what some may dismiss as minor ,ci classify as failures, i.e. they would fail the test if they were taking one.
I don't drive like that, so I don't expect others too either.

Same sort of thing happened to me last night in Annan. Parked cars on right hand side of road, put myself in primary position to stay safe from any close pass. Horn started when he was 50 metres behind me. Held my position. He tried to overtake into a roundabout but I kept my position and forced him to stay behind me. Stayed in position through the roundabout then coming out the RAB moved over to the right as there was a row of parked cars on the left. Must have held him up for 200 metres or so, all of 20-30 seconds added to his journey time. He just raced on, speeding up to about 40mph in a 20mph zone, when it was safe enough for me to move in and let him past. Fortunately no further aggression from him after passing. I would have caught up with him at the next set of traffic lights if I hadn't turned in to Aldi to pick up some groceries.

Just ignore him. Indeed, when faced with such a berk I'd go even slower on the basis that if he did cause a collision there would be less kinetic energy at hand.

Pointless reporting it without either evidence or another witness. Without some kind of corroboration it's your word against theirs, thus the threshold for prosecution isn't close to being met.

Deep breath time. The important thing for now is you're not hurt. When you're feeling a little steadier go and get camera'd up so next time you can put the prat in front of a court.

Going slower on a bicycle in front of such a guy? Are you really into such extreme sports??? I always say such a risk is better in front of me than behind me. At least in front I can see them better. I have this POV on bikes or in a car / van.

You will not change people by winding up more but as much as it galls me to do so I think it is better to give them what they want. Safer for you and anyone ahead of them that they might have encountered in a red mist if you do not let them past but go slower.

I am neither a fan of or opponent of polices' ways of dealing or not with problem motorists, but even I can tell that reporting anything with no corroborating evidence is pointless. Sure there is paperwork but to what end? It will get filed and while you are tied up reporting there is someone at the other end tied up dealing with it when there is potentially a better use of their time.

I am sure Drago can tell us better, but what is likely to happen to such a report without any corroboration only a numberplate?? Would one of your former colleagues appreciate that work? Would it actually make it to the official statistics or make any positive effect on cyclist safety?

Now with a video or independant witness as back up I would say report but this is nothing to report.

In the 'urban' area ,it's seldom there's no one about, anything happens make a commotion, someone will back you up.
Out in the 'rurals' , it's not so common to get these incidents, so less likely, not likely to get maniac drivers as no audience.
In saying that more fatal accidents happen on rural roads, because it's perceived less dangerous, which isn't the case

People might see it in urban areas but do they really report it too? Without another report or corroboration it is irrelevant whether you report it or not in most cases. Sure if you are lucky you might report it to someone that gives a shoot but the system does not allow much more than sympathy for your situation. IF indeed there is any of that!!
