The good news is that there are no tariffs to apply. It will be interesting to see whether they feel customs declarations are worthwhile, or how much the extra admin adds to shipping prices.
Yes I was wondering that.
Suppose they could do a Liz Taylor (with regard to Cleoptatra) - ie open up again to Brits but not really care if they get the business or not - just up the prices to Brits a lot - if they still bite, well OK, if not, well they don't care.
Am hopeful that I will still have access to my old fashioned bits and that I can still use my voucher.
Rose's postage prices have never over concerned me as I do a big order once a year using a voucher which covers the postage - their postage charge has never been much above PlanetX's if you toss a tyre or something in the basket.

The other factor of course is what might happen to the pound vis a vis the euro - before the pound began its fall a few years ago Roses's prices used to be excellent.

By the by, can someone alert me* by a post on this thread if Rose should change its position on shipping to the UK.

* I would have thought that they would have told UK folks on their mailing list (I'm on it) of the initial decision - maybe these Germans aren't as efficient as we have been lead to believe.

If they cannot be bothered why should we. I deal with several eu companies. No problem with them.
Also there are plenty of good brands out there.
Rose isn't "a brand" in the sense you mean - it's a retailer of a very big range of very useful down to earth cycling bits from all sorts of companies at decent prices - can you name a UK supplier that does that? Not wiggle/chain reaction who have been chasing the sportif market for ages. I got some good 9 speed cassettes from rose earlier in the year for round about £12.

It's a company that does not worry about it's punters, You will just have to shop around a bit more.:okay:

I thought you were claiming that it was their loss.
Not sure what sort of "punter care "you expect - I have always found them good to deal with.

They are free of course to not sell to folks in certain countries if they find some issues too much trouble.
I wouldn't hold this against them - it's not war.

Spa are of course excellent but, no criticism of them, they don't have the same range.

I'd spare the effort of hunting for a yellow face (rarely proof of a point) and put it into answering the point.

And checking your punctuation in case someone takes you for a foreigner.

Feel free to suggest some outfit that can supply what Rose does.

PS - I can recommend Taylor Wheels for wheels.

I think Rose are brilliant for specialist items often not available from UK retailers or available at much higher prices.

Got to remember cycling is a broad church and the guy who said 'no loss' may not fit the kind of cycling Rose caters to.

Quite. He never answered the key cycling points.
Had another agenda maybe.

Some European company owners may also feel strongly about what the UK has recently done to the eu, I personally have lost customers over there who do not want the bother of dealing with us, so it is fair to think they may not want our business.

I rather doubt the current position of Rose has anything to do with some form of pique, as you imply.
Nor for that matter anything to do with the war/disputed goals.
When they made the website announcement, no-one knew what the f was happening, and so it was entirely understandable.
With more certainty, they may change their mind.
I hope they do.

So do I, but for somebody like myself who used to make part of my living exporting to Europe I know how some feel. To be honest we still do not know what is happening.
