I haven't checked as I don't use gels, but are any of these wrappers biodegradable? The ability to do this exists. I am not excusing the knobbers who do drop them, but it would seem sensible for the manufacturers to do this if they don't already.
Just because you've seen the Pro's do it on the tv does not make it ok to copy.
Two legs not two wheels but cph marathon on Sunday. By ten in the evening the Sparta machine had tidied the whole city up.We have a big race day in my village every year for the Danish championships. At the end of the day a lot of the adults and children walk and ride the course picking up gel wrappers, bottles, caps, etc. I must have 10 water bottles in my shed.
If it is an organised event then surely they should have a clean up team who walk the course to pick up. If they didnt, I would be objecting.
Thankyou for answering my irrelevant postHang on whilst I take you post completely out of context ......NO
I have some freebies from wiggle and they dont appear to be biodegradable. I tend not to use them as it means shoving a sticky gel covered sachet into your jersey pocket....
Isn't it a bit like football? Kids see professional players on the TV and copy them on their playing fields.....spitting every few seconds.....
Team-kit wannabes on bikes do the same with their litter.
Nope, they're made from mylar. However, knowing the nature of the animal, putting even a tiny biodegradable logo on a package will just encourage the practice of suck and chuck. Lowlife remains lowlife but I think making them degrade perhaps outweighs the disadvantages. Bananas seem to have great packaging.I haven't checked as I don't use gels, but are any of these wrappers biodegradable? The ability to do this exists.
