I can get the keys at 2.30 on Friday. If anyone arrives early then I suggest go for a ride or find some lunch then come back at 2.30 onwards.

We are allowed to store bikes in the boot room in the lodge .

Please dont wear cleated cycle shoes in the lodge, its all quite new so we need to be a bit careful.

They have allowed me to only pay for the eight of us still going, Lukes Dad has generously donated his refund to the beer kitty so we now have £72 to buy some breakfast odds and ends and beer after the ride.Buy your own beer on Friday as some will be arriving late and would miss out.

Fingers toes etc crossed for good weather, its dry but cold here and looks to warm up a little ,still a fair chance of encountering ice from run off from fields etc.

The ride goes above 500 meters elevation in a few places. Were all experienced cyclists make your own risk assesment and decide for yourself if you think its safe.

Im like a kid waiting for Christmas now.^_^

I am riding to Glyneath this afternoon as taken an early day as its so nice, which is part of the route and just down the road. ATM it is stunning sunshine with literally not a cloud in the sky, but a bit windy and chilly.

Just got back, that was piss poor. 2 punctures and a chain break. Lovely day though till the sun went in. Rode to the Angel pub, which your stopping for food at, and sat underneath the waterfalls for a bit. All the bad stuff on the way back so ended up bloody freezing me bum off. Temp must have dropped 6 or more degrees in an hour.

Bit of bad luck there. Did you have a repair link for the chjain? Or have to ring for a lift?

I would bin that chain now, all the other links are equally tired.

brand new chain, done about 60 miles. Had a pack of 3 quick links. Looks like the side wall of the link was forged or whatever badly as the rivet hole is a weird shape. First KMC chain, usually use shimano so don't think I'll bother again.

Coincidentally, I've also just fitted a new KMC chain - time to buy another spare link...
