I will probably ride to the lodge from Port Talbot or Pyle station tomorrow evening. I'm guessing the Betws road up from the A4065 is a bit gentler/less brutal than the one from Coytrahen?

Secret plan to be faster up the hills, eh? Should be fine riding to the lodge but I will give you a bell if I have any trouble getting there - thanks.

Both ways are a bit of a pull but the Betws Road way up from the 4065 is more gradual than the Coytrahen / Shwt rds.

Its looking brighter for tomorrow and Saturday; the lbs sorted me out with a quote and made the bike rideable (although quite rightly they advised against any lengthy ride, to avoid potholes, stick to the flat and get things fixed ASAP). And the very short ride, although slightly uncomfortable, wasn't impossible although it was tail wind assisted and I was going very slow.

Sorry if I missed an earlier post ,can you get it fixed in time?

OK I was going to offer you a bike borrow but cant lend you a spare body Im afraid. If you want to come and give it a go theres a few opportunities to take a shorter route back if you needed to. Hope you are OK.

It was the fixie fooked (pardon my French ;)) I'll use the Kinesis (lighter geared bike) in Wales; I was more worried about my physicality and although uncomfortable on a short slow ride it was liveable; touch wood thats the way I feel tomorrow.

Yeah, saw about your mishap on the other thread. Hope you feel well enough for Saturday.
