Its pretty clear round here at the moment, I am next valley over. Merthyr is a good gauge for weather round here as it normally gets snow first and longest is clear. Picked up a telly from there yesterday and its just very icy.

Wind and rain is pretty bad but meant to clear over the next week. Temps are in the 0 to -4 for the next week.

I wouldn't take any notice of weather forecasts just yet...
Unless they are good ones

Its becoming a bit of a habbit with all things cycling related with me recently, but Im going to have to wuss out of this.

Even if it were in perfect weather, the lack of traing due to overtime at work, and uni means I doubt I would make 90 miles over the flatlands of the Fens, never mind with Welsh gravity tugging at my 100 kilos.

Im really sorry to miss this as I have been looking forward to it, but reality bites.

I hope those of you that do it have great weather and enjoy it! Hope you`ll post up some pics of what I missed

Ossie is a bit concerned (with good reason!) that he'll be the weak link!

Thats good.It could be embarrasing for me leading a ride from the back.^_^

Seriously though, anyone worried about getting left behind or not being able to complete the ride dont worry. Firstly it will be at a sensible pace , my fitness has dropped over the long cold winter as most peoples will have.
Also this route lends itself to bailing out ,at several points on the ride its possible to take a short cut and still do a scenic ride but basically chose your own distance.I will print off a few maps so if the group does split they can take a map with them.

So long as we get back in time for a few beers time isnt an issue, this ride is about 15 miles shorter than the Cambrian ride we did in October. Its not a walk in the park, theres a fair bit of climbing but also a few nice long recovery bits. The only real worry I have is if conditions are icy we may have to rethink the route, cross that bridge when and iff we come to it. Now wheres my suncream hiding?
