Reluctant to use bike in the Rain

It's hard to motivate yourself when it's raining outside. I have absolutely no water proof or warm gear at all, I'm not 100% sure what to get. I'm a sunny day, no sun cream cyclist It's always raining in N.Ireland to haha.

I know a chap with a campervan, which isn't allowed out in the rain ... which wouldn't be a problem in California, but up here on Tyneside .. oh dear !!

Any rain that does make it on to the van gets polished off ... and then polished off again
