Thanks. I suspect the original statement is missing some conditions. For example, a straight line from Hawaii to the part of Antarctica due south of Cape Horn does not appear to cross the date line at all.
If you travel from Hawaii to Antarctica in a straight line then you will cross the international date line seven times.
Please elaborate. Looks like twice, or possibly once to me.
The statement didn’t say the South Pole. It just said Antarctica. Which is a big place so gives plenty of scope for different routes.
It’s a fairly pointless fact.
First, it depends where in Antarctica you are heading (I notice the displayed map in that image doesn't go that far South).
And then, that is a map projection, it isn't actually a "straight line" that you would use if flying direct.
If you extend the pathway north You could probably find a similar route from Alaska, Canada or somewhere in USA mainland. How many other countries could you say it about?

The point is that you can also travel from Hawaii to Antarctica without ever crossing the date line once. It depends on what convoluted route you choose to take.

The 2024 US Presidential election campaign will be the first one since 1976 that hasn't featured a Bush, a Clinton or a Biden.
That's a bit premature, seeing as the democrat nominated atuon hasn't been formally confirmed...although odds are this prophesy will come to lass.
