Did some hill reps on Tuesday night and some fella in full team sky outfit went past me which made me dig in a bit deeper, did not help much mind as he went flying Into the distance.

Many people in lycra may be riding to power or HR, you would not know this. Racing somebody limited to say 70% well that is my sort of race nowadays.

Probably electro-assist, the latest models are difficult to distinguish from real bikes:thumbsup:

Don't hold your breath like !

Laugh.
Heh, I think @Pat "5mph" just overtook you!

Me, I cycle at the speed I'm cycling at. If that means the other woman or guy is faster, fine. If they've done that must get in front at the lights thing, I'll set off as normal and if I'm faster I'll pass them later. If I'm slower I won't. If you want me to rush, you'll have to pay me.

Are all these scalps gained when the other person knew they were racing?

How about as CC scalp winners championship.

If they knew then it would be an actual race . there is no fun in that as you may lose ! Its best to not let them know and then if you win it was a race but if you fail it wasn't really a race anyway

I don't get involved in any silly games on my road bike, I am 51. But...............................my house is on a v.busy Aire Valley road, popular with clubs at weekends and used as access to the Dales. I use my hybrid for the shopping, so with t-shirt, long shorts bulging panniers and I set off home from the supermarket. About a mile from my house there is a long uphill grind, I know the road 100%, if I see uber road riders, I really put the effort in to stay in touch.

About 500 yards before my house it begins to level off, there is a little 100 yards dip, you can really pick up speed there before my house which is on an incline again. I pedal like mad into the dip, pick up speed and pass them, ensuring I time it just right to get to my house before they can recover any credibility, with a cheery wave and a zip left I am home. It makes my weekend.

Was at an air show last year boy went past and about 20 mins later I set off passing him at speed. Funny thing is I was stopping a couple of hundred yards away to get lunch. Hahaha gave him a smile and a wave though lol
