I think these are the ambiguous ones! What most people don't realise is that it is not just the untouchable pro's on TV riding for these jersey's but your local club riders are also slaying themselves to earn the right to wear those jersey's with the national bands.

The proper pro kit, or the polka dot, yellow, green, yellow jersey's well everyone know's you didn't win the TdF or whatnot, but say the British band's well that is not quite so obvious.
Like i said - i bought it and paid for it - so i'll wear it.

I can't work out if you're for or against freedom of speech /expression.

How many people have you punched in the face for calling you fat?

None, perhaps people in real life just aren't that rude or it could be im 6'8 and 20st. people in real life are not as brave as they are on the internet. myself included.

Im totally for free speech but if someones rude and/or insulting because they think they dont have to front up with it because they can ride off smug, they deserve a slap. (same goes for people in cars that think theyre superman all of a sudden because theyre in a tin box)

Kindly quote me the bit that was so rude, please?

Personally, I think that people who go around calling people bigots and threatening to punch them should be ... I'll let you complete that sentence.

I'm not sure why they even make replicas of earned jerseys, obviously they make money etc, but it's a bit like the queen knocking out commemorative OBE's and Victoria Crosses out the back of Buckingham Palace. Anyway, showing support with team kit is one thing, showing support for a particular rider who's won is another, if you want to wear it then good for you - just bear in mind that jersey is potentially one drugs bust away from being about as cool as a Jimmy Savile shell suit.

Here's the thing with that comparison though. It's wrong. Poppys aren't handed out as a congratulation on upholding a 2 minutes silence, and you don't wear a yellow jersey through pride/remembrance. Cyclists work unbelievably hard to become the best and I don't want to look like a charlatan but as I said, if that's your thing then all power to you. Just remember, rocking out in a US Postal jersey is a good look, it shows your love of the sport. Wearing US Postal maillot jaune though, you're going to look like a tool.

and who are you to say that someone looks a tool in something?? fashion police?? cycling police??

i would suggest none of those and that your just another bigotted, toff nosed snob that thinks he has a right to tell people what to do and wear

if i had a lance armstrong shirt - i'd wear it
if i had a sky shirt - i'd wear it
if i owned a yellow jersey - i'd wear it ( and i do)
if i had any other cycling shirt - i'd wear them too

why? - cause its a free country, i'm old enough to vote, pay taxes, drive, drink and whatever else i want within the law

and guess what??

I SO DAMN WILL

I think you need to stop getting so frothy mouthed and start reading posts properly. I've clearly stated on two occasions that folk should wear what they want to wear, and in a thread asking for opinions I've given my reasons to choose not to wear something. Just calm down dear, it's only the Internet.

That said, wearing an Armstrong winners jersey is tragic, and that's a fact.

Yeah you keep saying.....

You are well within your right's to wear what you want, but at the same time, Zakalwe is well within his right's to consider you a tool for your choice.

As long as your wearing a smile does it matter what else your wearing. Cycle round in just a fig leaf for all I care. Personally I don't wear team kit as I have no interest in watching people ride bikes on the telly.

If you are smiling you are doing it wrong, the grimace is the facial expression one should endeavour to master!
