Bongo, far north of Ghana, about 10kms from the Burkino Faso border, 19 Jan 2024. I was advised by a local as I took this photo that recently there had been daylight armed robberies of buses and shared taxis in the surrounding area, and suggested I not do the circuit on quiet roads I was about to do - esp. as I didn't look like a local and would be assumed to have money and valuables on me. As I was having continuing nagging problems with my front axle and gears following a collision with a speeding taxi in Kumasi, I decided to turn back to Bolgatanga, about 15kms south.

24 Feb 2023 - waiting on the dock at Ha Tien (Mekong Delta, Vietnam) with my hired Trek Marlin 7 MTB for a ferry to Phu Quoc island, which takes about 90 minutes. (I acquired ferry-philia in the Delta, but was a little disappointed with these modern ferries esp the video films blaring out on the TVs onboard.)
