To make the porridge instant, it receives extra processing so it goes creamy in moments. Unfortunately the processing also increases its GI rating, meaning it doesn't keep you going as long. So, not only does it taste rubbish, but it's a lesser fuel for it. Costs a lot more too.Love porridge, hate those sachet things. They are the porridge equivalent of a cup a soup, yuk
