If you ask your kids to wear a helmet then your claim

is untrue.

I'm not saying anything about whether this makes you "a pro-compulsion", nor about whether that in turn justifies you once having been "swore at" in 2011. I'm just saying, what you said was not true.

My post was better than I thought, thanks for finding it

I didn't realise kids didn't come into it, I guess most people who wear helmets would expect their kids to do the same, so guess it could be levelled at many of us, don't think I'm any different

Nowhere in that post did I say I wish I could make my friend wear a helmet

It's their behaviour that kills not ours, how is that misinterpreted?

I make my son (who, incidentally, was not even born when Adrian made the post you're still so wound up about four years later) wear wellies when we go to the allotment. That has little bearing on whether I'm a wellington compulsionist or not[*], but does mean that if I were to write "for the record I have never made anyone wear wellies" I would be telling an untruth

[*] generally I think there are circumstances in which they can help and others where they would reduce safety, and am happy that it remains an individual choice

Duke of Wellington, whom the boot was named after, was Irish.

You've made your point about making my kids wear helmets twice now, I get it, the suggestion was I try to make adults wear helmets, it's reasonable for someone not to think it referred to their own children who where in single figure ages then

So wound up about? That's your assumption, I used it to point out the numerous posters who have double standards, co planning that doog is abusive whilst defending others who do worse

Same old, same old, compulsionist point of view! That's the same old false claims once you have no further answers, reel out that old false claim

Would be better for posters to read my posts if they want to k ow my thoughts.

Don't read false claims from others no matter how many times they say it, they believe their own lies eventually

By the amount of people responding to these posts it shows the pack mentality is in force just as much now as it was 4 years ago
"Pack Mentality" works both ways. What it should be is freedom of choice and the ability to recognise that others do not share our choices. I'm not going to start saying that you should start wearing a full face helmet, simply because I do.

I'm aware there's limits placed on just how much protection is offered by sheer weight. I think it would require a 20kg helmet to prevent any injury from just striking the floor, having parted company with your bike. What would the 20kg do to your neck though?

How many threads have been started by someone imploring people to spot and avoid fallacies in their own statements?

I don't recal saying I wish I could make my friend wear one, if I did I should have put it differently.

The link Dan B posted shows a completely different version of that post I think you are referring too
