The "Tenny Trail" is a great ride, especially when you've just railed down the last 300 metres and found yourself conveniently having a few beers with your mates in The Waverley after our annual Christmas trail. When we were on Isle of Wight we also took in the Tennyson Trail. Fantastic views on this off road route. Recommended.
I live five minutes away from the Newport end of the Tennyson Trail and have ridden it so many times. The Shepherds Trail, which also starts in the same area, but heads south, is also a sweet ride. Loads of single track, rolling fields, chalk ridges..........perfect.
We have about 240 miles of bridleways over here (on an island 26 miles X 13 miles), so for anyone wanting a place to go mountain biking you're well sorted.
Tend to do more on the road bike these days, but the Christmas trail, the Seven Hills Killer and the ride in to the sun on midsummer day are highlights for me.
