On the Iron Man ones, completing an Iron Man was a helluva lot harder than any of the ink I've sat through. Or am I missing something?
No I just found it funny/interesting that the only tattoo (that I know of!!!) among my circle of friends is an Ironman one.

That's not to say we're censorious and disapprove of tats. It's just that it was never really our thing.

I don't agree with you there. Sure, there's a certain "look" which goes with being a goth/punk/skater/metalhead or whatever but there are plenty of un-inked and un-pierced people. And nobody judges anyone in any scene for not having tattoos or piercings.

As this thread demonstrates, it's the un-inked and un-pierced that have an issue with it, not the other way around. Which is fine, I've just always found that interesting.

Personally I was proud of my son when he continued the tradition that me and his mam started of getting a tattoo at 17 at one of the local biker shops. It's actually pretty good too, as is mine. His mam's? Not so much!

She probably hasn’nt had the practice to regular tattooist had . . .

Years back I attended an Abney Park gig at Whitby Goth weekend, in jeans and polo shirt. When asked about my lack of suitable attire, I had to point out that actually I was the ‘rebellious/alternative styled’ one at the event :-)

I'd love to see Abney Park! Very jealous.

Perhaps I should hand in my alt card because I haven't.

Well I'm a convert after reading this thread, I'm going to get one of these:

I'd been wondering what to do with the bike now that I no longer ride it, or perhaps I'll just go for something a bit more normal, like a couple of rings:

I've got a Prince Albert and I'm straight as a politicians Swiss bank account.
How about a Prince Rupert?

In my opinion you’ve missed the best of the live performances - but I haven’t seen them since they played Whitby in 2011 (?) The last iteration with Finn was a casbah/funk fusion with burlesque - and Robert had not got old :-)

Please tell me you are not serious

Deadly serious. It has certain, erm, bed time advantages.

I'd post up a pic but I don't think the site has the bandwidth for all the female members to have a look at once, and those without atmleast a 40" wide-screen monitor will be disappointed.1

I have a number of piercings under my chap, also not posting pics 😂

Thank you

Mmm, there is a risk of that!

I've had a couple of flash tattoos done by apprentices and you are putting a lot more trust in them than more seasoned artists. I was only suspicious about one as she had some clearly infected piercings but her line work was top notch and she used some fancy wireless gun which was near enough silent and I'd never experienced before.

At my regular studio. Out of the 5 artists, 2 use standard electric, the other 3 quiet wireless. It's strange seeing people getting inked with the wireless ones. As I've been tattooed only with wired and the noise it brings, for me it's part of the experience.

Yeah it kind of threw me a little at first.

A lot of my work is hand-poked which is a whole different feeling/vibe. Probably my favourite to be honest as the noise from a gun does nothing for my tinnitus.
