I won't make the ride as I now live in Spain. Nice cycling here. Money spent on making cycling easier and safer will be money well spent. Unlike the New Tram...........whitch isn't.

Might not make it. Off roading wrecked my MTB's suspension. I've got a week to find a second hand mountain/hybrid bike or I can't come! ;(

 That's a shame ... hope you can get your suspension fixed quickly - I suppose locking it won't make the bike rideable? I am not very technically minded with suspensions, so that's probably a very silly suggestion ) ... or borrow a bike from a pal?
If all else fails, there is always the possibility of coming along on foot - the pace will be very slow!
Hope you can make it!
Looks like I probably can make it - just a thought though, is a saturday the day to do it, will there be anybody at Holyrood to notice us on a Saturday, can't imaging that lot (politicians) bothering their arses on a weekend.
 Great - will you be cycling all the way (and back)? :bicycle:

If you want to offer to meet other people along the way and ride in together, get in touch with the organisers via the website (or twitter/Facebook if you have an account)!
The organisers are currently putting together lists of "feeder" rides from all over the place, there are some people arranging to ride all the way from Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife (and other places closer to Edinburgh) already !
It would be great to have riders arriving from all over the country - with posters pinned to their jerseys or taped to their pannier bags

Parliament has been contacted, the question is how senior the person symbolically receiving the manifesto will be (there will definitely somebody there, not sure I should mention any names) ... the more senior the better for the cause!
And the media will be there, both print & TV! So it will definitely be noticed ...:wahhey:

As of yesterday, Chris Hoy is supporting the ride, too! Check out the new poster  .

Is that me with the pigtails blowing a kiss? Looks much better than the real me!

Ally Tibbitt of GreenerLeith has proposed a Leith feeder ride route (http://bit.ly/JsynE9) suitable for all riders which will start outside the Malmaison Hotel on the Shore and head round Lochend Loch, through Holyrood Park etc. I'll be following him as it's not one I'm familiar with, and he will be adding the details to the GreenerLeith website soon (http://www.greenerleith.org). Meet at Malmaison at 12.45 for a 1pm start. So far there's me, @allytibbitt, @PuzzleCycles, @stepdoran and a few others - maybe you can join in along the route if you're near it?

The more the merrier! I have a dodgy knee so you may have to tow me along if you do join us...

I think I might go to the Meadows by the shortest route , having to cope with 2 of the organisers in the house in the run-up  ... HJ & the mighty Magnatom ... or maybe that's a good reason to go the long way round :whistle:

Hope your knee improves quickly! You haven't been running again, have you?

Here's to a good turnout for PoP!

I went out for a 3K run on Easter Monday after not running for three weeks. Wanted to make sure I didn't lose the fitness & to test out my knee which had recovered. Found out it still wasn't right, then a week later I twisted/strained it making a sudden dash across a road to avoid a speeding car... that's what had me limping like an old cripple last week!
