It's not just that it's not the norm, it's also that it's completely barmy.
Yet you are the one who suggested it?

I might have been joking. It's only a bit more barmy than thinking everyone should wear a polystyrene hat when going about their normal business.Yet you are the one who suggested it?

.... AGAIN, walking is inherently less dangerous simply due to it's nature!
Which is another point that you or another anti-helmet person has made.
I am however going to stop replying, simply because we are going around in circles because you cannot provide any new points other than "pedestrians should wear one" whilst not actually being able to provide any meaningful data.
Furthermore, this thread was simply about the new helmet design which is three times more effective, it is those who disagree with helmets that started it into a nine page long debate.
It might pass for exciting in Croydon.2872542 said:Oh come on, that sounds exciting
Not when you compare it to the effects of an airbag, and again if you READ my posts I have stated that:
"Yes a helmet might help, however the airbag in the case of a car would provide the same protection"
According to this idea, we should all sit in a concrete bunker wearing tin foil hats!
By wearing a helmet you are preparing yourself if the event arises, you have to with all things, take both the advantages and disadvantages and make a reasonable, justified conclusion.

Five pints???? Respect!!!!Have I mentioned that taking the precaution of drinking five pints of Jaipur IPA saved my life the last time I fell off my bike?
Actually I'm not absolutely sure I fell off my bike. It's possible that I merely walked into a door. But I distinctly remember riding no-hands away from the pub, so the falling-off hypothesis seems plausible.Five pints???? Respect!!!!
I can't afford five pints of Jaipur, probably couldn't consume that much at one sitting, and would need the assistance of at least two relatively sober attendants even to mount my bike! Bet it's a very effective muscle relaxant, though.
You mean they turn inside out above 20mph ?2872436 said:Unfortunately, your cycle helmet is not designed to work at 30mph making your argument totally irrelevant.
How many hours per year are expended in the pursuit of cycling, how many hours per year are expended by pedestrians in the uk ?Totally wrong..... if you look at reality, the admission figures to Casualty departments the number of pedestrians is four to five times that of cyclists
You are missing the point entirely. NEITHER is a dangerous activity
