A survivor parked on the street in Dartmouth this evening. A poverty spec W124 200E with original number plates and dealer sticker in the rear window.

@Gunk

I'd like a W123 estate, with the colour-matched hubcaps & chrome roof-rails (with a diesel)

Like this, but ideally in green

EDIT @ 08:40
And a UniMog!!!

First place I worked at after leaving school, the manager had one just like that, same colour, same hubcaps, was iirc a 1979 240TD diesel, I was tasked with nipping back from Kippax to pick up some bits & bobs, and to fill it up with Diesel too, so I stopped at the petrol station on Willowbridge Road in Castleford, in those days if you wanted diesel you had to use the HGV pump, as Diesel engined cars were few & far between, so whilst waiting for the pump to be turned on, I was surprised to hear a distant echoey voice saying, that's diesel, until I twigged it was the cashier trying to prevent a disaster, I ended up having to go in and tell her it's ok, it has a diesel engine, how times have changed !

Am I the only one who has noticed the 2CV Sahara which is the rarest of the rare? (At least I think it's a Sahara, but it might be a Mehari, which is slightly more ubiquitous)

If it's the grey one I'm not convinced its a Sahara, rather than a 'normal' one with a novelty inset in the bonnet for the spare wheel. All the Sahara pictures I can find show a distinctively different front grille.

I think you're probably right - I got rather overexcited. That particular car's a regular at shows & meets, but I can't find out what it is.
