In 24v V6 form it did, at least for its era. The 12v was distinctly underwhelming
Many years ago, my first car in 1972 was a '64 Austin 1100. When I started poking around underneath, discovered that the sills were mostly a combination of Isopon & rolled up newspaper - !Looking at the bottom of those doors, a lot of Isopon was involved
I never drove but travelled quite regularly in the passenger seat of the ugly Scorpio back in the day and was always impressed by its comfort and refinement.
I'm sure it would have sold in higher numbers had it worn a Merc or Audi badge.
