Is it a classic? I think it’s still in Old Banger territory

Classic to me

To be fair they're rather more than that.

SAAB were indeed supposed to simply drop restyled bodies onto GM products to save a few quid, but they went to such lengths completely re-engineering them instead the expense eventually sunk the firm.

Indeed, the one Biggs spotted is an 'NG', factory code 9400, model which is actually based on a massively updated version of the original 900 platform. It was the 2nd generation 9-3, factory code YS3F, of 2003 that shared its origins with the GM platform.

I had a proper 1983 three door Turbo back in the day, those 93’s are a pale imitation, a dressed up Vauxhall.

Still a classic just like the two stroke ones my dad used to have when we were kids living outside Taunton all bought through Charlie Box ( might be wrong surname) who had a garage just past Wellington on the A38.

I owned a V4 96 for a while in my teens it was fantastic and great fun to drive they were proper cars not like these sanitised bloody things we have now.

Northampton based Turbo technics owner Geoff Kershaw was the man responsible for a lot of the original Saab adoption of a turbo on its engine and he still has the original 2 door Ems based one or did have the last time I saw him a couple of years ago.
