I’m sorely tempted I was brought up working on these.

We have a minor in storage awaiting the time and space to restore it to its former glory. It was our daily driver for about ten years. I follow those chaps on social media and they always have something interesting and tempting to look at.

Nice "Amazon" Volvo, in the slightly more elegant 2 door version

And a day or two later a "user"grade but seeimingly roadworthy 420 Jag. You don't see many of these as the Mk2 and similarly looking S-type with IRS are rather more favoured. I think the 420 is essentially the same as
the S type with a different bonnet. I rather like them. All have that magnificent XK straight six engine

All sorts of things got converted to diesel.....
I always remember a friend of my Dad's had fitted the Perkins A4.203 engine from an old forklift to a fastback Sunbeam Rapier. The front half of it was BRG ( or something very close to it). The back was black due to al the spot from the exhaust! I've always fancied a Rapier just because of the memories.

Lansing Bagnall FODR series forklifts had the 4.203s in, a very sturdy but dirty engine so no wonder the soot it generated

A variation of it was also used in the Massey Ferguson 65. Absolutely bulletproof. The first thing I ever drove.

I've always had a soft spot for those, although the one I remember fondly was at the opposite end of the performance spectrum as someone had fitted a Perkins diesel engine.
