Anybody know what this make is? It’s our first family car, somewhere in Germany early 1950s the BZ on the reg plate stood for British Zone (north western Germany).

I think it’s an early BMW by the shape of the radiator grill?

Shape of the radiator grill would suggest that it is a recent BMW. However the rest of the car disagrees.

I'd be inclined to think BMW too. The grill, and also the round badge.

I also did wonder about some kind of Opel due to the round badge but the grill would lean towards BMW.

Some versions of the side valve Ford's had split grills but it doesn't look right and the badge should be oval if it was a Ford.

Those Rovers have the wipers in the wrong place.

We did own a German Opel Kapitan which we brought back, by road, to England in 1956

Ooh!
A nice ‘55 Chevrolet, be it a 2-door, or a Nomad!

Think, ‘American Grafitti’’, for a black 2-door (driven by Harrison Ford, in it!)

I love the '55 150 Gasser from Two Lane Blacktop with its huge 454 big block.
