The NL team were DQd eventually. Not that it made any difference to the result as neither team (NL or GB) were up there in the standings. I don't think there's any question of it being deliberate - he just had his head down.

Re the other crash I can't find any news on Torres, but the fact that he was well enough to argue with officials is a good sign. (Not necessarily that good though - I recall being in A&E with a head wound once and getting a bit argumentative with staff for asking me difficult obscure questions that were really hard to answer - like how old are you and what's your name)

I do love watching the Madison. It's harder to follow on telly because the cameras keep zooming in so you can't see the whole thing and you're not sure what bit of the race they've chosen to highlight.

And above all - that was a superb finish to the race from Portugal.

Given what happens in other sport do wonder why they do identify the Madison leaders with a following flag on screen.

Is the amount of non gold medals won by GB (not just cycling) disproportionate considered the amount of gold medals won.

We seem to have won loads bronze & silver - but not really many golds ?

In the sprints, wouldn’t it be fair to have a further ride-off between the losing finalist and the “third-place-ride-off” winner, to determine the silver and bronze medals? Pretty sure that Finucane would have had a good chance against Friedrich, and the only reason she got bronze is because she was in the half of the draw with Andrews…

We’ve done really well in the diving/gymnastics/artistic swimming where we’ve been up there with best-of-the-rest behind China, and pretty well on the track, behind USA, and pretty well in the pool. We’ve also have a pretty bad run of luck with injuries and illness, some shocking judgments in the boxing, and a few former gold medalists retiring since Tokyo.

I don't believe we have won a single gold medal on the track ?

No I think @kingrollo means cycling track. This being the olympic cycling thread an' all.

It's a fairly low total by team GB standards. GB did win the most medals (8) on the (cycling) track thanks to a haul of 4 bronzes.

The amazing thing about team GB is the spread of medals. They have won 14 golds but in 9 different sports.
