Hmmm....maybe if I turn the forks round like they do in ASDA

As for me, slight dislocation which means a permenantly slightly out-of-kilter right shoulder

It also means for the 2nd time, my running is shelved. It also means a few weeks out of the saddle.

Yesterday the vet told me my feline friend of 15 years is in heart failure and has weeks to live - so no matter what, the sling is comimg off when Oakley wants a fuss and cuddle - not the greatest of weeks, this one!

My typing is not great with the left hand either so there will be many typos to come

Sorry about your off ST, get well soon. That junction is an absolute bugger. Loads of drivers get confused by the lights there, from what I've seen...

Just out of curiosity, how's the Revolution when it's not bent?

I was looking at them in the shop for future reference...

Bad luck ST but I hope the shoulder is not too long in recovering, I can also understand and sympathise with your situation with Oakley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nasty! I hope you recover soon. As regards the shoulder, I broke mine when I was 16 (came off my bike and straight into a barbed wire fence). I struggled with pain and inflammation in it for the next 10 years until I went to see someone who was trained as both a chiropractor and a physiotherapist - she fixed it up within 3 sessions! I recommend you do the same if it gives you jip.

Hope you recover quickly.

The Country Revolution looks like a sturdy beast. What damage did you do to the car that pulled out on you?

Hoping for a swift and smooth recovery, ST. Partial dislocation isn't the end of the world. I've had a wonky shoulder since I was 16 after a similar injury and it hasn't put too much of a dent in my activities.

Glad it wasn't anything more serious.

Good option in heading for the hospital ST (like I didn't last year) - I had a very similar incident in Jan 2010, and although a little sore at the time didn't realise quite how much damage I'd done. Jiggered my rotator cuff and by the time that was apparent, I had worsened it by not dealing with it straight away - It was as a swine to heal

Good luck with it all.

Today was depressing:

Had £21 of Decathlon vouchers so redeemed them against a new chain and front mech for my MTB to put that back on the road. Hoping that a more upright position would be easier on my shoulder and that I'd be okay at least with short rides

As soon as I got into town (only about 1.5 miles) I knew that I shouldn't be cycling at the moment

So I will have to carry on walking to work (I refuse to be forced back into the driving habit) for the time being and see what the doc says on Thursday when I go for my appointment

I do like it - for the money it's a lot of bike and sturdy - I do lug loads around even on day rides (I don't feel happy unless I've got a pannier half full of "all eventualities") so it really suits me

I'd be very happy to replace it with the same should the insurance decide to replace the bike

You need to push the GP for a Shoulder Clinic (i.e. at Hospital) appointment to see a specialist consultant. Also see GP about physio, but you will most likely have to pay - I'm still out of pocket after my accident in Dec. 2008, and it did take until recently to get an op.
