The term "bandwagon" was first coined in the 19th century to describe a public transport vehicle that would travel from town to town, with a brass band on the roof, allowing people to jump on and off as the vehicle moved, having listened to the band during their trip.

The first golf balls were calcified elephant testicles

Common theory purports that shepherds herding / looking after their sheep used stones as balls - hitting them with their crooks: in what was the earliest form of anything resembling golf.

Interestingly the sheep took shelter in holes / crevices in the side of dunes (In Scotland were the origins of golf began). These were what went on to be the first natural bunkers on the earliest of golf courses…..

**I’ve never heard your theory on calcified elephant testicles in any historical golf document I’ve seen, read, heard of or museum I’ve visited.

VW Golf drivers in St Andrews spend an average of 29% of their driving time driving to the driving range. On most journeys they have 3 drivers in the back (second only to the VW Caddy, who routinely carry 5). The other 71% is spent driving a fair way to The Bunker, a well known watering hole on the edge of a local village green.

The 2 stroke engine produces the same power as 2 strokes of a rowing boat, which isn't much.

...which is merely a coincidence, since it was named after the sound a cat makes after being stroked twice.

The WRU have replaced Tom Jones' classic tune Delilah on its song list, with The Prodigy's - Smack my B*** Up

Worse than that - the word 'tackle' is now verboten because if its links to gentlemans' paraphernalia, so we will now all be making 'interventions' on the halfway line (now known as the 'transitioning' line in the modern vernacular of course, since it has self-identified thus)
