With numbers that represent a numerical quantity (eg bank balance or crowd size, but not phone numbers or credit card numbers), there is a nearly 50% chance the leading digit will be a 1 (30%) or 2 (15%), than any bigger digit.

By an uncanny coincidence I was talking to my wife about this very thing onl yesterday. Despite her being an accountant, she'd not come across it. (Bulk) fraudulent records often don't take the rule into account

Gullible is derived from the French "Gulle Les Boules". This is a technique used by boules or "Petanque" players where the "boule" is thrown in a high arc before swooping down on the target boule in the manner of a seagull.

And being a borrowed foreign word ot was only added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 1958

If all your blood vessels, veins and arteries were laid end to end, you'd be dead.
If you took all the blood vessels out of an average child and laid them out in one line, the line would stretch over 60,000 miles.

An adult's would be closer to 100,000 miles long.

Thompson's Gazelles have been renamed "Tui Gazelles"

They are still ABTA/ATOL protected.

But once again, the lions didn't get the memo

The average American has 1 1/2lb of undigested red meat in their small colon.

Small colon? You sure about that?

There's the small intestine and the large intestine. The large intestine is also known as the colon and can be divided into ascending, transverse and descending colons. There ain't a small colon, give or take @winjim 's post.

If you're unfortunate enough have major abdominal surgery you might end up with a semi colon.

Somehow I don't think this joke quite worked as intended.
