It doesnt have any of the indentations thats on the double chain ring on the Giant. It was the cranks and chainring that was £25. It had a chain guard which was taken off :tongue:

cranks should be ok as they can take a bit more punishment, should have binned the ring though.

I bought an RPM single speed crankset that included the ring and thought the ring looked dodgy so i binned it, that crankset cost me £35 on ebay, cranks are fine though. Stuck a thorn single speed ring on that and its solid.

My guess is that it's a chain ring for a bike with hub gears. It wouldn't be designed for the kind of force you'd get on a singlespeed.
