How the hell???

All the power in the world shouldn't have done that - assuming that the chain is correctly aligned along the line of the chainring then any power should be transferred to the back wheel - nothing laterally to pull the ring out of shape... I'd be questioning the materials used in that!

Maybe you could carve your next one out of a Fray Bentos tin, it should be stronger than your last.

Cheap sh!t parts/ four arm spider/ too small BCD for ring size/ cheap shoot parts/ loose ring bolt/ your immense thighs.

No idea, its a Sturmey Archer thing the bike shop got.

I like the idea of immense thighs though, can we go with that one:becool::biggrin:

Whilst powering off from some lights in Kirby-in-Ashfield, this happened:sad:
Image060-1.jpg

Thats a new crankset that i got at the start of this month(i think)
Powered off, and it was only the push down pull up and my legs were just spinning. Looked down and saw that:sad:
Took to bike shop, they guy reckons its the frame that has flexed alot when i powered and so the chainring just bent. He asked if i had crashed it first:ohmy:
So i now need a new chainring, and probably a new frame if it is the frame flexing. It does flex alot:sad:

I would not have thought you did it, more likely a manufacturing defect, incorrect item fitted.

Imagine Chris Hoy getting away at the lights, he'd have to make his chainrings out of kryptonite!!!

Spot on

You had a road ring on they are not made for all that force what you need is is a single speed ring ie one for a 1/8 chain like a BMX chain ring. I hope you are ok mate:sad:

This is the only one that sort of looks like the one i have, and is the same number of teeth(44)
And if that is the one, then its an ali chainring.
