I'm definitely not going out to have to fight my way to the bar, be harassed by drunken idiots who want to shake your hand, then if you say you'd rather not, they want to fight you,:ninja: then there's the ridiculous pub prices, plus no doubt I wouldn't get or be offered a seat! 🧐 What are your plans for tomorrow night? 🤔 I'm going to stay in with my bottle of cherry brandy and a few bottles of beer and some nibbles. :okay:

I will be sleeping going to bed.All the party's finished during covid.we rotated through three houses over the years. But in the years since covid health for at least four of us has gone down hill,so we don't bother anymore.

We're in Edinburgh! So we will be in bed early in the hotel as they've cancelled Hogmanay in Edinburgh. The weather is too bad for the wee Scots! Lol! Not being serious. It's horrible clag out there now and yesterday's torchlight procession was cancelled last minute due to strong winds. They really were up near the castle. It would have been carnage with 3000 flaming torches and half the participants too I bet! Hard to fight the wind when you have to lean right into it to make headway. Gusts up to 100mph up on the castle I heard were expected that evening.

I've just read that, in the news and thought of you.

Nothing here planned TBH.

Cherry brandy !!!! Think I would rather be in a pub full of drunks ^_^

But seriously I can't ever recall seeing the new year in. I enjoy being in my warm bed with the distant sound of singing plus fireworks.
Besides the weather is supposed to be dreadful.

Tomorrow will be cheese n biscuits with some decent wine.

Just checked, the Micro Pub is only open to ticket holders from 7pm. May have gone around 4pm for a beer, whilst we ordered Thai take away (next door) then gone home, so that's out of the door. Need to jet wash the decking if we plan watching fireworks from out back garden - we've views over Cheshire and Manchester - it's a bit slippy currently.

Very likely to get a takeaway in - and watch some TV or a Film at home. Not much fun going out to a pub etc when you’re both tee-total 🙄 Not had a takeaway on our ‘Holidays’ so far. Or for ages. Will need ordering as soon as they open if we do - to then expect a couple of hours wait for delivery…😳
