I guess I'll get used to it. As I say its very comfortable to ride but when I stop at lights etc I'd just like a little more wriggle room. I also tried a bike at my local Decathlon and the assistant put me on one which I also felt was a bit big but he assured me was perfect. I'm probably only feeling its a problem as I have only ever ridden bmx bikes.

You see that's why I stick to just SPD and SPD-SL ;)
Ditto, only shoes I need.

@gedphones maybe others might be able to say something, I can't make a judgement from that image, little tip to the O.H. crouch down, so your head is in the top part of the frame and your feet toward the bottom part, also at a slight angle rather than at the 9.30 position so say from where she was stood maybe about 11o'clock. Mind you from the angle even if she crouched down I think she still only be about your head height. ;)

Was she shooting from an upstairs window.

Sorry guys as I'm new here I don't know if posting threads from other cycling forums is a no no but there's a few replies in here that put my mind at rest. As I won't be throwing the bike round rugged trails and the likes it seems the stand over height is secondary to ride comfort....... Only been on the saddle for just shy of a week and it's all I can think about! Got the bug

, is this not what we sort of said, need to wake up and re-read the thread, just in case we didn't

edit, guess we didn't though i mentioned saddle height relative to pedals, but yes comfort is pretty much paramount, your not going to want to ride an uncomfortable, but then there are levels and what you think is comfortable now may not be in 6 months as you body changes, and you become more accustom to riding a bike.
