they are online but have 165 stores for a click and collect service
that said 2-3 day delivery only £2.99 i think so if you can wait for your stuff and save £17 !!!
luckily theres one 5-10 mins away from me so its handy
The point I am getting at is with Halfords you can just walk in usually for most bits, I picked up some GT85 for £2.25 on click and collect whilst it was nearly £4 in store.

I can say the same about a LBS and simply by not getting the right spoke nipple, not saying Halfords would be any better probably not, and in hindsight if I had known that i would still be waiting 3 weeks later being told tomorrow the day after tomorrow ect.... i would have just mail ordered it like i had to in the end. We all have bad experiences it should tar everyone with the same brush, whilst another local guy that does bike out of his shed (big one mind) has given me lots of little bits gear cable top cap ect.... but then i can strip and rebuild my own bikes so have very little use of the lbs as such.

So can I get this straight, you bought a bike secondhand and it's not to your liking. You call the original retailer of said bike, lie, and because they don't know any better in that they're assuming you bought it from new, they're replacing it?

Have I missed anything?

Tony.
Yeah, I did feel bad but their goodwill will be repaid in future custom. I know its not right but the bike had about 10 miles on it. Also the guy I got it from could have took it back under their no quibble 28 days money back guarantee but he obviously never looked to closely at the receipts, so he lost out when he didn't need to.
When I turned up at the shop the sales guy was just going to give me the bike without taking the used one back. I told him i was here to pick up the Vulcan and he just handed it over. Obviously this would have been out and out theft so I told him it was an exchange and nipped out and got the other one....... I'm not all bad.
