Hello all !

Male Brummie here, just happened to stumble across this forum while looking for a decent online cycle shop.
Bit of a leisure cyclist more than anything else, just like to get out & view the countryside by two wheels.

Any fellow Brummies on here ?

I'm sure there are fellow Brummies on here - I'm not one of them!

....hello and welcome to the Cycle Chat forums anyway.

Start a thread on the Cafe' it should get more of a response(it's a bit quiet on the welcome mat, sometimes).

I suppose it's time to stop lurking, now that I've actually got a bike. I've taken up cycling for exercise, perhaps one day for commuting if I can get fit enough - it's twenty miles each way so that might take a little while just yet. I'm happy to be pottering along the towpaths for now.

Thanks for the site though, I've picked up a lot of useful information so far.

Hello "The Penguin" and welcome to the Cycle Chat forums.

Pottering along the towpaths is how a lot of new members start off - then onto the roads - then commuting - then a cycling club - then time trials - then the Olympics 2012!  ;)

I still enjoy pottering along canal towpaths on my days off - the time/miles just drift past.

I'll look forward to seeing posts from you in the future.

All the best.

Welcome to the forum. There are a few of us Brummies on here. Which bit of countryside around Brum do you cycle?

Did you manage to find a decent shop?

Hello!

I'm from coastal Kent, and spend much of my time on my XC MTB, cycling around the coast.

I use my bike for transport as well as sport, so rack up quite a few miles.

If anyone's from Kent, let me know!

Cheers,
David

Hi,
Newly registered on here. I live in Chester, UK and cycle to work three days out of five at the moment, work is 5 miles away so a fairly easy jaunt. Two days I have to use a car for unavoidable reasons. I currently ride an old lightweight steel hybrid which is coming to the end of its natural life, at least the components are, so I'm looking for a new bike. I also plan to increase my cycling for fitness reasons.
Cheers

Hey,

My name is Ahmed i am half English half Turkish and i live in Sheffield in Yorkshire. I am extremely interested in long distance bike rides i have not done more then 25 miles before but i used to ride my mountain bike alot before now i really want a road bike and i want to ride with some people, if anyone is from Sheffield and would like to come for a ride let me know.

I am still currently bikeless I am not sure yet whether it makes more sense to repair my old mountain bike its a mongoose front suspension bike needs new gear system and back wheel or just buy a new road bike.

I have never used dropped handle bars before but the thought alone excites me and i cant wait to ride.

Sorry for a long post in the hello part just wanted to explain myself a little yea
PM me if you know a decent vendor for a bike for a max of 300 pounds its not much but its all i gots and a passion to do this

Big hello to you all, my first post but been reading here all day you have helped me already
