Hello all!!

I'm from Porto - Portugal and i recently bought a Dawes Jack Folding to go work.

It's about 12km and i usually go by train now i use my new bike and save per month about 23€

Cheers, Pedro.

Hey, Mejaime

Is that 12km each way? I'm jealous if a monthly train ticket for that distance is only 23€. It would be close to that for just 2 days travelling here.

OK, screw the rain, the snow and the €25 a day to get into London, does anyone know the Portuguese for "accountant"?

Hi I'm Andy from Surrey, used to be an absolute cycle nut as a kid and at the grand age of 43 I've got the bug again. I bought a mountain bike but put road tyres on virtually straight away, realising this was the direction i wanted to go in, I think I must get my off road fix from my motocross activities.
Anyway now the bug has bitten, after covering just over a thousand miles, I'm in the market for a road bike, I've got a few options in mind but I'll save that for another post.

Cheers
Andy

Hi everyone, I joined yesterday and have been wandering around. I'm normally over in BR, but I thought this year I'd branch out a bit and visit other places.

Hello :girl:

Hello UK cyclists,

I post on a couple of U.S. forums and found CycleChat today.
It is nice to visit your side of the pond.

Welcome to the CC forums Lance, I don't think there are too many contributers from the States. -

I'm maybe a bit out of order saying this(correct me if I'm wrong Admin...) but why not post a brief introduction to yourself on "beginners" - what you ride, do you commute, why you like cycling etc. As this "Welcome Mat" thread has gone a bit stale recently. With only a few others and myself contributing.

Hope your enjoying your cycling Stateside "LanceOldstrong" and look forward to seeing post's from you.

Hello

Welcome to CC - as I said in my answer to Lance - pop an intro on "Beginners".

There are quite a few cyclists from London on here.

All the best "wanda 2010".

Hi. This is not my first post unfortunately but it is my second. Recently bought a Claud Butler Criterium Road Bike, and have been out on it twice so far. It is an absolutely amazing first Road Bike and I would recommend it to anyone looking at buying their first one too.

So in the spirit of the thing ive foolishly entered the Dartmoor classic as i am local to them there parts and am now seriously pooping myself as i was driven around the course today and it is very very scary but heyho onwards and upwards . First day on bike tomorrow so am going to try and get up to Mannaton from Bovey Tracey !

Greetings, Jerry. I was cycling down that way myself a few months ago, quite lovely (if lumpy!) it is too.

Good luck with your goals. ;)
