hi from down under

Hi there, - Julian from New Zealand - I have a '79 Mitchell, New Zealand handbuilt roadbike which I've been getting back into shape. Along the way I've been taken in by a number of earlier bikes and bike parts I've come across, and 3 months ago I took the plunge and bought a 64 Carlton frame. I've been collecting bits from 'Trade Me ' our equivalent of Ebay, and from Ebay itself - what fun ! Anyway - thought I'd join up here and share in the knowledge from the land where Carltons came from. New Year greetings to all.
Cheers
Julian

Hi everyone. I plan to start cycling again in the new year I'm hoping to pick up a old XC bike for under £200 for starters, I may look into something more interesting as my fitness a skill level progresses.

Well! It's the new year!

WELCOME to the CC Forum by the way!

Hello and Happy New Year! I'm a complete newby to cycling but I've got a place on the London - Paris cycle challenge in July. I haven't ridden a bike since I was 10 and I'm now 35 and loving learing about the wonderful world of bikes.

Welcome to the CC Forum - I think you'll find there are a lot of people on here that have returned to cycling after a long absence, like me!

A good pair of thermal socks and all-weather sports boots(like Karrimor boots-in Sports World sale about £10/£15).
