Hi colnago master and welcome .what bike do you ride can I guess
I could have called myself Ribble winter trainer but just doesn't sound the same.
I also have a carbon Ribble and a Ciocc Mokba 80 set up as a fixie. The Ciocc is quite nice as its a hand built Italian frame from the 80s.
My Colnago is from early 90s with 8 speed Dura Ace. Lowest gear is a 39x23 so not easy uphill.
What about you? I know nothing about mountain bikes I'm afraid.

Had a look at a ciocc for sale in my lbs, until I saw the £3000 price tag, very nice bike though.

Hey Lisa

I found your post interesting. Could you start a thread as such interesting post tend to be get buried in this long running folder. Don't worry, use the exact narrative for the new thread. You are bound to get some interesting response and a warm welcome. I can see you lot are really into cycling. 150 miles a week in no mean feat and you are certainly no plodder.

Welcome :welcome:
Thank you Arrowfoot. I shall start a new thread.

First Folder - "Welcome Mat".

Thereafter if it is on cycling - General Cycling Discussion or in Cyclechat Cafe for anything subject.

Hello there,

In 2012 I get rid of the car and started to commute on the bike. Loving every day and every mile. It's hard and sweetie but enjoyable experience.

Hello pedal pushers!
My first post on here.
55 year old, bloke living in Benfleet, South East Essex.
Been riding an old bike for just 4 days now, having not ridden for quite a long time, so taking things real easy, just a block or two to start with, now doing two miles per day. Plan is to gradually build up to the 15 mile 'Ride for Helen' on 10th May. Just two weeks ago, I started a job at Basildon, and intend to ride to work when I am more confident, if the weather looks fine, in the summer months.
Using an eighteen year old Shimano SP2018 Raider (mountain bike style), was surprised to find the original tubes and tyres had not perished and the bike only needed a new band to protect the rear tube from the spoke ends, and a general oil up.
