Hi all!

I'm Hobbio, from Nuneaton in Warks, 36 and fat a bit chubby lol.

I'm just about to get a bike for on and off-road riding, just to add some variety to my cardio. Ellipticals are all well and good but you don't actually go anywhere

Once the machine is sorted I'll deffo be up for joining some weekend rides.

In a bit! :hello:

I have a Schwin on road/off road cycle my hubby didn't buy an expensive one as I just getting back at it last year. We live in PA. of the USA. I seen an advertiziment about the shoes with cleats that you twist your foot to snap or unsnap the shoes to the peddles any sujestions as to what it the best ones to get as my plan is to ride it to work as well at riding for pleasure at this point.

Hi all, brand new to road cycling, done a lot of lurking on the forum taking in all of the knowledge and experience. Hopefully in time I'll be able to pay back some of the advice I've taken.

Hi, I'm 16 years old, from the UK....I've been cycling on the road for almost 9 months now after inspiration from the 2012 Olympics (never having done any cycling beforehand) and absolutely loving it. I'm currently training to race, compete in TT's and I've recently started track cycling  I just posted in the 'Track Cycling' section of the forum in hope of some advice and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hello

I have recently got myself a lovely hybrid bike through the cycle2work scheme. I am now on my 3rd week of cycling to work for most of the week (there is one day when i can't) and I am officially a convert. Before now I hadn't been on a bike for 10 years but was tempted by the thought of getting fitter, enjoying the outdoors and saving on petrol. Despite the varied weather conditions at the moment I have quickly realised that the sunny days more than make up for the times i get rained on. I have found I am alot hungrier than before and I am slowly learning how much i need to eat although any tips will be appreciated!

Hi everyone, I'm Pufnstuf (AKA Steve). I'm nearly 50, carrying a load of extra poundage in all the wrong places and really need to do some exercise to lose some of it. I can't stand running and have never been able to understand people who run for fun (rather than to catch a bus - or away from danger) but I used to cycle a lot when i was younger.

I decided it would be a good idea to get a new bike as the one in the garden under the cover was too heavy and too annoying to ride. From reading discussions on here, I now know that what i had was not actually a bike but in fact a BSO!

After a lot of internet research about what I wanted (alloy frame, decent gears etc) that was within my budget, I finally spent more than I was intending to and bought a Pinnacle Lithium 2 from Evans. It struck me as a good way to find out whether I would actually be able to keep up the good intentions I would start out with. In my first week I did two rides, one of just over 6 miles and one of just under 5 on some reasonable slopes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience compared to my previous BSO.

Found this forum whilst looking for threads about shorts and suchlike and have noticed a number of useful threads which I'll be looking at soon.

All the best,
Steve
