Now in my late 50's I've decided to 're-live' my youth and got a Fothergill (last owned when I was a young teenager). Its a bit of a beauty but needs some serious TLC and its currently in to be blasted. With matching numbers its been dated somewhere between late 40's to mid 50's, but cant be any more precise than that.
What intrigues me is the Accles & Pollock mark on the fork It says "A&P, BST and CM". I know the A&P and BST meanings but is the 'CM' just a mark for Chrome Molly, or does it mean something else ? Anyway, the forks have rather deep dropouts, so no need for 'Lawyer Lips'.
