Even if you are slow I bet you do it with style. ;)
Quite right Bexmay, one does ride a Pashley with an eye to decorum. Of course, one may loosen one's tie a little to avoid unseemly perspiration on inclines. Anyway, if in haste, one's hat may blow off, and that would never do.

Hello all,

I'm a new member, so forgive the awkward questioning (!), a friend got me cycling about two years ago, and have rather enjoyed it, upgraded to a road bike not so long ago, hoping to do a few long rides over the summer. Often spend my day off work taking in London by bike, I even try the hills for a laugh!

Best,

BCY

Hello all :hello:

Early-30s, took up cycling a month ago after major surgery ruled out running ever again. Got a hybrid but after doing 53 miles on the roads last weekend I really wish I had something that didn't weigh a tonne!

Is two bikes an extravagance?! Anyway, look forward to talking to you all. Forums are a great motivational tool.

Errrm, I've never dared weigh my 'gentleman's conveyance', but I read somewhere that it's the thick end of 26kg. Half of that's probably the saddle and the bell! Both bike and rider need some coaxing to go up the hills.

Hiya,
I'm 34, officially disabled (I look fine but I can't sit upright due to a hip problem, plus an ankle gives up on me) and the only proper cardio I can do is cycling.
Completely addicted. I've been riding my Globe Vienna hybrid for two years and am now getting into road bikes and lycra. After a Dolce now. Doing it the cheap way, learning about bike mechs and bargains on the internet and in shops.

Just relieved I can do something, and there's nothing like cycling around Richmond Park when the weather's nice to help me feel better.
Is there a thread (or several) for us cheapskates anywhere? A kind of inverse-cycle-pron discussion? ;):highfive:

Hi Folks, another new arrival here. I'm the slow one on the Pashley Roadster Sovereign that you all overtake (unless we're going downhill...).

John
Hi and :welcome: Just read your introduction: I am the slowest, get overtaken even downhill!

Hi all!

Long time reader, first time poster! I'm primarily a commuter, cycling daily from South East Leicestershire into work in Leicester all year round. I've also been known to go on a couple of mini tours with a few of my old uni buddies, and certainly enjoy weekend rides. Any other Leicestershire commuters on here?

Currently riding a Trek 1.2t, which I purchased last summer.
