Don't, understand your comment. My comment was to propose that if you wanted a bike with mudguards, you are not limited to the venerable Dawes range.

With a few exceptions, Dawes and Kinesis being two. Most Audax bikes are made by specialist frame builder, the likes of Roberts and Hewitt. It wouldn't surprise me if most winter bikes are audax bikes or have the same geometry. Audax covers a wide range of potential frames, from quite relxed to pretty tight, almost full on race bikes but normally they have room for guards and often racks. So when you say Audax, you're covering quite a wide field. I guess people don't always realize this.

Looks very nice, enjoy.

What size of frame is it ? it just that sign "kids clothing" has me worried.

Actually, its only a 54cm despite the fact I am a whopping 5ft 10! Short legs, long back!

So I expect to keep up on the rides now!

That's nice that, really nice. I'm jealous, suddenly I fancy a Kinesis. I liked the look of them when BoaB was looking at them and they've grown on me since. I could just get the frame and build one, bit by smuggled in bit.

Looks good. I like Kinesis' too, came pretty close to building up an RC2 at one point.

Now flip it;)

Go on, you know you want to! I am sooo looking forward to getting it later this week.
In the end it has cost me 950, with mudguards pedals etc. Neil at Billy Bilslands was great, even though they had a lot on that day. He set the bike up for me, got me on turbo trainer, and got me in a position that he and I were happy with. Off I went, found that me knee was getting sore and that the handlebars needed a slight adjustment, so back to the shop for a tweak. He managed to unbudge my cleat and with a slight rotation, no more knee pain! ;) It's probably been set wrong for a while!

The bike felt very light, and responsive, but surprisingly comfortable. High Street in Glasgow (bit of a hill) was no problem on the compact gears. I had a good few to spare! xx(

So with the bike comes a lifetime of free services , priority servicing for bike purchase customers, and a willingness to do good deals on any other equipment in the future. Bilslands is my new LBS!

Blimey Mags...well done....my work is still faffing about - I don't yet have my 'login' as the scheme is new...at this rate I can see no saving if the prices shoot up soon.......could be a few weeks before I get the chance to 'go ahead'

Actually I won't have it through the scheme probably until the end of Feb. But I can work it so that if I buy it on my credit card next week, that I will get the cash back via the LBS before I have to pay the card off. Result!

I was in Bilsland's last Fri getting a new headset fitted to my Ribble and I spotted a rather nice Kinesis getting built up. It was complete, except the bar tape when I saw it. It looked very nice. I did wonder if it was your new wheels. A good choice if I may say so.
