Just looked at my time for the V9916 segment on my only accent of the hill 23:12 I wasn't attempting a quick effort, I was 62 and weighed approx 78kg 11 years later I weigh 70kg and have increased my cadence a little, although older I would like to think I would beat my original time if I was trying, but I don't get over that way much.

That segment is so 'popular' - or at least frequented - that three people fit into that time, age and weight intersection: remarkable!

Hmm... I just checked with Bike Calculator the difference that using the drops would make. Apparently, with a modest headwind, even at my low speed I could save close to 2 minutes! I never climb on the drops, so that is something that I will have to try.

Need some clip on tribars deffo extra 2mins🤣🤣

There is, yes. You won't be able to see leader boards by age group or weight though. You can just go to Strava.com and sign up.

You can only see top 10 with the free account can't you? So it's really not much use at all. You can just see that fast people are indeed fast.

I could also be wrong. And that does, now you mention it, sound familiar.
EDIT: It's a pretty easy check to sign up and see what you can see though @ColinJ .
ANOTHER EDIT: top 10 it is :-\ https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030851772-Segment-Leaderboard-Filters

Not sure if this is the one Colin was trying to do 20 minutes on, but there are 24 riders on the CC Strava club. In reverse order. Myself @DCLane and @nickyboy occupying the top three slots. Think we are all a bit older wiser and slower now. 🤣

I can't really be bothered to sign up just to find out how much faster the 10 fastest random strangers are than me!

I'm hoping that a few more slowish CycleChatters turn up in this thread though and volunteer to have a crack at the 20 minutes. (I mentioned it to @Svendo years ago and he just went out and blitzed it!)

Somewhat older, many kilos heavier and almost no outdoor miles right now, I’d be starting this challenge from far behind.
Also when I did blitz it, I had a significant tailwind!

*** I should mention that this climb features on the second stage of next year's Tour de France! ***

My latest Cragg Vale HC ride was today, in the usual SW cross/headwind breezy conditions - time: 34 m 26 s. That is 49 seconds quicker than last time, but I got delayed a few seconds on that occasion by temporary traffic lights, and by chatting to someone. I still have a long way to go to achieve my sub-20 minute goal, but I will try to keep nibbling away at it as my health and fitness continue to improve. My Warfarin dose was increased by 10% last week and I am hoping that that will give my body's clot-busting enzymes a better chance to do their job!

Can you provide information about the route?
How long is the route?
How much elv gain?
What is the average slope?
