Working day drawing to a conclusion.
Another frosty night by the look of it.

Day off tomorrow and its needed. The work W11 laptop was a complete pain, knew I should not have handed in the W10 one.
Very frosty start, was -2 at 8 but by midday the outdoor thermometers must have had sunstroke as one said 8 and the other 10 whilst their was still frost on pavements and grass leading to a careful Co-op trek.
Then discovered a Billy bookcase collapsing so thats something to try to fix tomorrow or alternatively off to the recycling site with it.
Post WAH a dash to Waitrose who had reverted to giving me cheap milk just as I needed a bottle. Also cottage pie back on the vouchers but the in-store newspaper missing again.

It's been a mild and sunny day after a frosty and misty start.

Did not sleep well as my back and knee are very stiff for some reason. The morning's tasks included going through my apple store and checking for damaged fruit. I had to wang some, but the vast majority is fine. I pulled out a bunch of damaged cooking apples along the way.

Lovely luncheon of pate on toast, fruit and a :cuppa:

This afternoon's task was turning the cooking apples plus the apricots I chopped up and soaked overnight into a batch of jam. I also did the firewood and have almost finished emptying the trailer and stacking the wood in the garage. As tomorrow, weather permitting, I shall be going for another load.

Just sat by the fire and having a :cuppa: before needing to peel some tatties for supper.

I've also been doing some research and fact-checking this afternoon.

I found a newly-published and new-to-me article on Paul Warwick last week, and the damn thing is peppered with some pretty ghastly errors. Not just about Paul himself, but also about motor racing at that time in general. I'll admit that some of the errors are obscure enough that only a nerd like me would pick up on them, but most of them can be easily checked by picking up some contemporary magazines or asking Mr Google. But really, it's nothing more than lazy journalism.

Ergo I've been double-checking the errors to make sure I've got all my ducks lined up in a row (including references) before I get onto the author to tell him that his article is, well, garbage.

Penultimate working day of the week completed. Plans for the evening as yet undetermined. Very cold and possible ice risk so I won't go out on the bike this evening.

From midnight, most minor roads will have their speed limit reduced to 60km/hr and there is meltdown on the comments sections of the papers due to how much longer is allegedly going to take people to get to work and someone arguing that because it will make peoples' journeys take longer, people will be so tired that they're more likely to crash and kill themselves! In reality, it won't make any difference anyway due to no law enforcement.

A dusty barn find Morris Marina is listed on the local FB marketplace. Maybe they should have left it there!
