Local franchise owner got caught by HMRC.
Many had better range and customer care, they just disrupted the toy market as Amazon is going now.
For many the sell cheep and out of town model proved too much of a pull for parents.

The one in Bradford had staff who didn't seem to care, and often sent them in our direction when faulty goods were brought back.
It was also awkward to get to, unless you went by car. Or were prepared to walk a bit, and chance the vehicle entrance.

Toys R Us has rebounded into Macy's, over here. I never went in there much, with a good local store nearby. Our Toy R Us had the front ripped off it and was turned into a Jo-Ann Fabrics store. A really big one.
