I couldn't stop laughing after the water companies just announced a price increase !

They say that they need the money to replace the aging water system !

I seem to remember that was the reason why they were privatised in the first place .

(***Hypothetical): We've raped and pillaged all the profits here at my work too. Had a few nice Holidays, some flash cars. With no re-investment the other end. You know; just generally pi55ed money into the wind with no thought involved......

We now have ageing machinery / systems; and can't remain competitive. I wonder if we can twist the Governments arm to give us some sort of subsidy ? Or just off-load the cost of modernising onto our Customers and hope they don't notice.....

Or perhaps we could just try running our business properly. As it sounds like the above should have....

Shhh! you're not supposed to remember that part! It's a bit like the then government privatising the railways as it would make them more efficient. We would end up with superb rolling stock and low fares due to the increased competition. Then you notice that the current government subsidies to the railways are far higher in real terms than they were before privatisation 🤔

It's dry but grey. Morning perambulation completed without getting wet, even starting to get a bit of daylight, shower completed, porridge eaten, computer wound up all ready for a day's slavery to earn an honest crust.

Heavy rain and windy again.
Nothing planned but I may make some oatcakes. I get the ingredients from Oban as the coop refuse to stock such exotica.
The list of ordinary things people want but which are not stocked gets longer by the day. The neighbour I posted a photo of removing a bin from the front bumper of her car wants vinegar but they do not stock any.

Calmac tell me the Glen Road from Dervaig is closed until mid morning. Seems a lorry is off the road and has to wait for recovery.
It can be a bit confusing as we have two Glen Roads, the other one being Glen Mhor down to Fionnphort.

Need to wait in anyway today as waiting for a GP phone call re my last blood results.

Ernie has only given me £25 this month but cannot really complain as I got £525 in January.

Morning all. No work today as I'm heading off to Nottingham in a couple of hours to see Coach Party at The Bodega this evening. As it's a 3 hour drive, do I risk a second coffee before I leave as I would prefer to get there without needing to stop for a pee?

The good news is that £200 from ERNIE will cover the fuel for this trip and two further trips at the end of the month IF the trains are cancelled again.
