What often happens with our weather is almost predictable. If the day starts off good it turns to rain later and if the morning looks dire then turns out nice later.
I first noticed this many years ago when I was a postie.
Often got my morning delivery done in sunshine but by 9 o’clock rain started and if starting wet became good later.
( I was lucky as I had a post office bike so got cycling as well and got paid for it).
Calmac are having a total power outage as they put it next Sunday at the Craignure office. Tickets will have to be issued by hand and paid for in cash only.
Seems a bit strange but few vehicles travel now without prebooking for which you pay at the time of booking but foot passengers usually just turn up and get a ticket at the office.
Could get caught out if not carrying cash as probably lots of people do nowadays. I rarely use cash now as nearly everything is paid by card.
At least they give warning but only to those on the text message system or FB. The jungle drums probably alert the rest and just as fast. One comment is that they are a quicker means of spreading gossip or rumours than the phone system tho’ in the days of an exchange with manual operators that was debatable.
