Sunny intervals as forecast today. What was omitted from the forecast were the heavy showers in between.
Went out for a trike run and checked out a forest road with a smooth surface and more by good luck than good judgement managed to stay dry.
Unfortunately they are harvesting just now and soon heavy trucks will be appearing which take up the whole road with deep ditches on both sides. A bike could be ok but a trike is a different matter.
The holiday home owner opposite has appeared and been cutting down hedges and having a bonfire of damp wood with lots of smoke. The current wind is northerly but the last time he did this my car was covered in ash as it was a SW wind then. Not good for the paintwork and I was forced to wash the car which is not something I do very often. At this time of year I tend to leave it until the frost is gone do it then and pay attention to under the wheel arches to get rid of salt.

Cake is made. Tomorrow morning I shall assemble/decorate it. 😁

It's been a murky, mucky, drizzly and raw day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, and then loaded the crock pot with tonight's supper before spending the morning ferrying around the parental so she could sort out some errands. Had a fine luncheon of two slices of multigrain toast, one with ham and one with sliced avocado, plus a pear, an apple and two :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon making a big cauldron of alphabet soup using the stock I made yesterday, and then did some work on my archive. It is quite amusing when you find out that you actually know more about a car's history than the people who are meant to be the experts on such matters. When the answers are there to be found if you are willing to be patient and persistent (and disappear down a few fascinating rabbit holes while doing it), it makes one wonder why no one has actually managed to join all the dots before.

Anyways, it is almost time to feed the cats, and then it will be time to feed me.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I've spent an enjoyable day in Lincoln attending son no. 1's graduation, accompanied by son no. 2. SWMBO couldn't make it due to NHS staffing issues sadly.

Lincoln Cathedral was freezing but we got excellent seats right at the front; almost all the guests sat far back in the middle behind the graduands, leaving two narrow sections each side empty. We simply popped down the left-hand side to the empty seats by the front.

@Jenkins - yes, he's at Nottingham. His accommodation was chosen because it included parking, so it's not an issue.

Where in the area so you need to park a car? Some places are particularly vulnerable.
I'm staying at the Chapel Bar Premier Inn just off the Old Market Square in the city centre (close to Rock City), so I was looking at one of the NCPs in the area. However, I've decided to use the Nottingham Station car park as it's close(ish) and cheap compared to the NCP and council owned places.

Not having had to do it for a while, but I'd forgotten how difficult it was to start a pallet of goods weighing over 600kg moving using a hand pump truck. I then re-discovered how difficult it is to get the same load stopped once moving on a slight downhill slope when you can't just drop it to the ground.

Lovely supper of a big bowl of alphabet soup, followed by spaghetti & meatballs in an arabiata sauce. Used the sausages I bought on YS on Sunday to make the meatballs, basically, just cut each sausage into four using a pair of scissors.

Ah. A perfect way of demonstrating the principles of inertia and momentum.

Nice one sounds like you all had a good time well done on his graduation. The cost of some of them is getting silly and pricing some out sadly.
Your seating sounds like ones I had at Mrs 73 nursing graduation. They only allowed 2 tickets I had to go on a waiting list. They put some extra seating in the ticket said row z, thinking the worse it turned out the extra seating was down at the front. Her parents row was way back in the main seating.
Lincoln is a great place for a day out we like going always find something new. Only thing we found a bit rubbish was going round the cathedral. The church on the way to the cathedral on the corner open for coffee they do lovely the cakes. The trails they do are fun , my neighbours when they had a boat in York often sailed up to Lincoln visiting family.
