I think it would be fun to be a weatherman. they always seem go excited & happy w/ their work

And in one case some years ago spectacularly wrong. Michael Frost? I seem to remember said no wind just before we were blasted. I was distillery manager then and camped on the roofer’s door next morning till he arrived at his workshop so got repairs done promptly as he was swamped with work.
I wakened by a noise in the early hours and saw a garden shed travelling down the road at quite a speed. Not ours so just went back to bed.

Quite.

Surely the only job in the World (?) where you can continually be so far wide of the mark it’s untrue (And this; in-front of millions of people); yet get the chance to turn up tomorrow and have another go - with zero recourse……

It was bad on the south coast, boats strewn all over the place, moorings snapped etc. If its the Michael Fish storm, gusts were hitting 120mph!!

Car battery flat. Not completely flat but not enough to start engine. Currently got battery charger attached which I’ll leave for about 3 hours. Then I’ll take car for a run (assuming battery has enough charge to start it by then) to charge battery some more. The fun of cars when you don’t drive them much.
I have a feeling that I may be calling the RAC Home Start service out next week - my car's only been used twice this year and probably done about 10 miles on each occasion which won't have got much charge into the battery and it was low on charge to start with. Added to which it's the original battery and drains quite badly in the cold.
I use a solar panel charger plugged into the diagnostic port in mine as it goes days without being used.
Same here, but I don't think it's enough to counteract the cold of the past week or so. I'll have the battery checked at MOT tie in March and may get it replaced.

Motoring mundane...
Washed the car yesterday, one drive to work, may as well not have bothered
Very cold this morning, windscreen washer fluid froze, windscreen was very smeared by the time I got to work. Must up the ratio. -4 this morning.

Always aim to change oil every 6k mile. Currently at 7k, no chance its getting changed until this blooming weather changes for the better.

Despite the grey and bitterly cold weather, I deided to bike up to Stowmarket for the first pub lunch of the year. There were "Road Closed" signs on the back road I normally use and it turns out they were proper closures - putting in a couple of new juctions where warehouses are being built as part of the 'Freeport East' project. I just picked up the bike and walked straight through with not a word said by any of the construction workers.
