How ever it’s done without a good quality pencil all of it is worthless. So many pencils now are totally useless and can’t hold a point for toffee.

Faber Castell 9000 series.

Otherwise, Staedtler Noris. I bought a pack of 12 online during first lockdown as the art shop was shut and the postage on them was free - as opposed to several quid for something as daft as a couple of pencils. I use them for doing the under drawing for paintings and pen & wash. They're B-grade though; harder leaves a dent in the paper, and softer just makes a mess*. They're a bit cheaper than the Faber castell, but still pretty decent as far as these things go.

* I've got quite a heavy hand when it comes to drawing.

Taking a break from scanning and having a :cuppa:

This evening's tally (so far) is one copy of Autosport (seven pages of assorted reports from the 1986 FF Festival meeting) and five copies of Motoring News including another load of stuff from the '86 FF Festival, a F3000 race report, an F3000 season review and a regular monthly column written by Derek Warwick. Oh, and some bits from an F3000 race programme that I promised to show to someone.

l've made an annoying discovery , it seems that no-one makes a handlebar mount for a fork with a 1" {25mm) steerer tube. They are all 28.4 mm , very frustrating ****

Popped into the loft yesterday and insulated the loft hatch after my laser temperature gun showed it to be several degrees cooler than the rest of the ceiling. ( great fun being childish and pointing the laser beam while making “pew-pew “‘noises as I pull the trigger) 😄
