Mrs 73 phoned in a panic a engine warning lights come on in the car. Asked a few questions and ruled out danger to carry on. She was almost home anyway. It's either a sensor needed a clean or reset or it's something more wallet damaging.
She's got time in the morning to take it they normally are good and find her a car in the mean time.

Slight dusting of snow this morning but it was melting on contact with the ground. This was just as well because I had to go to an office in the local county town. Now the ground is wet but the clouds are thinning and there's occasional sunshine. No sign of the Kandel yet though; that had snow on it yesterday so I expect today it'll be fairly deep.

TIme to drive the van to another part of the company and help one of my clients organise his work area.
How were you chosen for this task!

A sharpener will only take you so far... In engineering drawing, we were taught to keep a sharp point on our pencils (2H) at all times using fine sandpaper.

My mechanical drawing teacher insisted on sharpening with a sharp blade.

I still do this with pencils. You can get a better point and the pencil will last pretty much indefinitely as you are only really sharpening the point rather than carving chunks of it.

With this cold snap, I've oddly had to turn down the thermostat that activates the central heating boiler. It's in the downstairs hallway which is the coldest part of the house so the boiler is on for longer to get this area up to temperature. I'm in the living room with the door to the hallway closed and therefore it can get uncomfortably warm with the radiator giving off heat for longer.

Mounted to a little wooden panel, a few sheets of sandpaper, over here. I was in graphic design class. I was also the guy who fixed everybody's technical pens. You say Ko-hi-noor Rapidograph or Staedtler Mars nowadays, and people wonder what planet you came from.
